Municipality of Stráne pod Tatrami received one million euros from Norway grants

In November 2020, the Municipality of Stráne pod Tatrami applied for a non-refundable financial contribution from Norway financial mechanism 2014 – 2021 and the state budget of the Slovak Republic in the program "Local Development, Poverty Reduction and Roma Inclusion“ and submitted an application under the title „Development of a multifunctional facility for children and youth in Stráne pod Tatrami".

According to the decision of the Expert Committee of the Administrator of the Program, a contribution   of 951.977 € was approved.

Approved project grant: 951.977 €

Aim of the project: Build a new Multifunctional facility and create a network of activity centres that will improve access to a wider range of extracurricular activities for vulnerable children and young people from disadvantaged areas in order to improve their personal development and provide them with skills that increase their chances of succeeding in society.

EEA grants: Through the Agreement on the European Economic Area (EEA), Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway are partners in the internal market with the Member States of the European Union. As a way of supporting the continuous and balanced strengthening of economic and trade relations, the Contracting Parties to the EEA Agreement have established a multiannual financial mechanism known as the EEA Grants. The EEA grants aim to reduce social and economic disparities in Europe and to strengthen bilateral relations between the three countries and the beneficiary countries. During the period 2014-2021, a total contribution of €2.8 billion was agreed for 15 beneficiary countries. Slovensko will benefit from a budget of €113.1 million.
